    What is Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon Hydrotherapy is a hygienic method of cleansing the colon through gentle infusions of purified water, which introduces water the entire large intestine to be cleansed.

Colon hydrotherapy uses specialized equipment that has been cleared/approved for legal use in its location (i.e., F.D.A. Class II cleared*, C.E., T.G.A., Health Canada, etc.). Colon hydrotherapy is similar to an enema; however, colon hydrotherapy should only be administered by a qualified practitioner, such as GPACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapists who have been trained to administer the entire therapy with due diligence and observe the client’s progress during the session.

One may experience more cleansing benefits from the very first session, while others take several sessions to hydrate sufficiently but usually three separate sessions are recommended for complete cleansing.

Description of Closed System Therapy Process

Colon hydrotherapy entails that the client lye on the treatment table. A small, lubricated, disposable speculum/noozle is gently inserted into the rectum via the anus 2-3 inches. The speculum/nozzle is connected to a long disposable plastic tubing to the colon hydrotherapy device. Warmed and filtered water is slowly released into the colon via rectum. Whereby, the water assists in softening the feces. In addition the water also causes the muscles of the large intestine (colon) to contract, called peristalsis. This “pushes” the feces out through the hose to be disposed in a closed waste system.

Depending on the reason for a Colon Hydrotherapy session, a therapy session lasts around 45 to 65 minutes. During the session, approximately 25 to 30 gallons of water is passed into and out of the large intestine (colon) helping to restore the colon’s natural function by strengthening peristalsis. A trained and certified therapist will use several light massage techniques to get the colon moving while filling and releasing the water several times during the course of the therapy. They can supportthe client to determine how many and how often the colon hydrotherapy sessions may benefit the most.

Side Effects and Safety of Colonics

People with certain conditions should NOT have a colonic unless given prior approval from their physician. These conditions are called contraindications and they include: pregnancy, acute diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s disease, painful hemorrhoids, painful anal fissure, congestive heart failure, severe anemia, kidney failure, on dialysis, and acute prostatitis.
    Complications

Possible complications, which are similar to the risks of a colonoscopy, are perforation, electrolyte imbalance, allergic reactions, or infections.
    Colonic Device

The GPACT Certified Colon Hydrotherapists only use GPACT Certified Equipment that is approved by the member’s government’s laws other different authorities for different countries. In the U.S.A., GPACT Certified Equipment is Class II Medical Devices as approved by FDA. There are Open, Closed, and Closed Gravity systems.

GPACT does not have a knowledge database of laws and has always indicates that it is the responsibility of the member to know the laws and follow them.

A typical colonic device is comprised of various water purification systems [charcoal filter, particle filter, UV light chamber] and are designed for easy cleaning to prevent any contamination being carried over from one session to another. It also contains a lighted viewing chamber which helps the colon hydrotherapist to view the waste and give the colon hydrotherapist complete control over the temperature and pressure of the water making the therapy very safe.

class 2 open colonic device-With the open-basin system, the table on which the client rests has a basin set into it. The equipment is plumbed to the sewer system from the bottom of the basin. The client’s buttocks are at the edge of the open basin so intestinal waste may fall easily into it. The waste is “open” to the air, hence the term “open-system”. Water comes from a gravity tank system and/or a pressure system set in a cabinet at the foot or side of the table. Tubing connects the tank with the speculum. The equipment is designed so that either the therapist or the recipient may administer the session. Water pressure is regulated. The maximum pressure is 1.4 psi in gravity mode and 3 psi for pressure flow. The speculum for the open-basin system is narrower than a pencil in diameter and 4 – 10” long. It goes into the anus about 2 – 4″. The recipient pushes when he/she feels the urge to defecate. The water and waste are expelled around the tube and into the basin meaning that unlike the closed system where the waste travels inside the tube, this open system allows waste to expel around the thin tube. The recipient can also choose to retain water in the colon during the session as long as they tighten their recutum . For the open-basin system, the client remains one position to accommodate the basin. The open-basin works particularly well with spina bifida, paraplegics and quadriplegics or any other population that has extremely loose sphincters muscles.

Closed Colon Hydrotherapy System-With the closed system, the water pressure can be adjusted of the inflow of filtered, temperature regulated water. This means water enters the colon very slowly or potentially less than 1/4 psi (pound per square inch). Typically a session ranges from 40-65 minutes. What is known as the speculum is inserted into the rectum via the anus, and allows the water to flow in via the fresh water inlet, and out via the larger tube that allows the waste and water to leave the body in a passive way. The speculum is approximately 3/4″ in diameter. It is gently inserted 2-3 inches into the colon. It comfortably holds the anus open during the session, thereby removing the need for the recipient to push the waste out. The water line connects to the incoming water line on the equipment, and the waste line attaches to an illuminated glass viewing tube that allows for observation. The waste goes out the speculum into the disposable waste line, then empties directly into the sewer system after passing through the view tube. The waste is “closed” to the air, hence the term “closed-system”, no open lines of water or waste. The recipient remains on the treatment table throughout the process. A professional therapist administers the colon hydro-therapy session, and is present during the entire session. The sessions consist of a series of inflows and outflows that can be accompanied by abdominal palpation techniques and massage.

    Why we need Colon Hydrotherapy?

Colon is the major path through which waste and toxins get out of your body.

Laxatives, Enemas, Probiotics are not effective remedies for constipation because they cannot get to the real source of your digestive issues.
Colon autopsies show it and now studies prove that-even if you have a regular, daily bowel movement-you may possible have 10-12 lbs. of hardened, toxic, bacteria-laden fecal matter stuck in your intestines!
And this putrid, toxic, backed-up mess is aggravating your digestive system and taxing the rest of your organs more and more every day.
This causes bloating, abdominal pressure, diarrhea, colon pain, gastric discomfort and big belly, even though the majority of people reported they have no problem with constipation.

These layers of dried up fecal matter are the REAL cause of your digestive problems and most other problems with health that you never imagined were related.

Laxatives or enemas cannot flush this toxic, rotting crap out of your colon!which is 5 feet long and has hundreds of folds and wrinkles where can get stuck and can swell to 9 inches wide like overstuffed vacuum cleaner!

Laxatives or enemas only clean about eight inches of the lower end of your large intestine. However, large intestine is about 5 FEET LONG, (small intestine – 20 feet). You will not believe what can come out of you untill you see it with your own eyes!

Most first time clients get surprised what a relief they feel after their body has released pounds of accumulated old stuff, including including mucus or even parasites! Some clients have so much bad stuff flushed out that their stomach gets flatter.
you’ll be glad that your colon is cleansed of this stinky, toxic waste!
